INTO THE WOODS
Swinging Bridge Press announces the paperback and ebook publication of Into the Woods: Families Making Art in Nature reconnecting families to the natural world through original meditative games, such as the Eight Treasures, by hand printing leaves and fish, and by participating together in citizen science. In the pages of Into the Woods, families can rediscover the beauty and solace of the outdoors.
Based on Sue Fierston’s work as an artist and teaching artist, Into the Woods starts off with with meditative games that make it easy for you and your family, regardless of age, to have peaceful outdoor fun together.
You and your family can explore meditative drawing, emotional color, and become citizen scientists by creating a nature sketchbook. In the last chapters, engage all your senses and create hand-made art as you print a fish, print a leaf and hand print a shirt.
It’s easy to find the activity that’s right by using the “Best In” list at the start of each chapter. This list lets you choose your activity by season, too.
or at your local independent bookstore.
