This spring I’m teaching for the first time at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.!
On April 27, I’ll be teaching watercolor and printmaking in a 5 hour workshop called Leaves Two Ways. First you’ll transform contour drawings of leaves into transparent watercolor paintings. Then you’ll use the same leaves to make leaf prints using a walking press. You’ll leave the workshop with several 8 x 10 inch watercolor paintings and botanical leaf prints. The cost is $105, which includes all supplies.
Come learn the Japanese art of gyotaku in Fabric Printing Using Natural Materials on Saturday May 4 as you print with actual fish on linen in a 5 hour workshop. Experiment with hand printing on fabrics using colorful Akua printmaking ink on muslin, and take home a hand printed canvas bag. The cost is $110, which includes all fish and other supplies.
