Smithsonian: Gyotaku, Printmaking, Painting

Sign-ups for my spring and summer workshops, The Sketchbook Habit and Fabric Printing with Natural Materials are open.

Hand printing fish in the gyotaku style of Japan…carving white line woodblocks…developing your creative sketchbook habit….

These are a few of the workshops I teach year-round through the arts arm of the Smithsonian Museums here in Washington, DC., the Smithsonian Associates. I offer these workshops over Zoom, so wherever you are in the world, you can take a class live, or watch the recording.

Please contact me if you want to be on a mailing list for new workshop announcements and updates.

Nature Printing Society

In late July, I’ll be teaching botanical bas relief plaster casting at the Nature Printing Society‘s yearly week-long workshop in Acadia National Park.

NPS offers workshops in gyotaku, bookmaking, botanical printing, botanical monotypes…I’m the president this year, so contact me with any questions, I’d love to hear from you.
